Pupil Premium Spend
What is the Pupil Premium?
The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.
In the 2015 to 2016 financial year, like all secondary schools, Harris Academy Battersea will receive £935 for each child registered as eligible for Free School Meals at any point in the last 6 years. Schools will also receive £1,900 for each looked after pupil who:
- Has been looked after for 1 day or more;
- Was adopted from care on or after 30th December 2005, or left care under a special guardianship order or a residence order.
What is Harris Academy Battersea’s Pupil Premium allocation for the current academic year?
We will update this information shortly.
How will we invest our Pupil Premium funding during the current academic year?
We have based our plans on Harris Academy Greenwich, which has been highly successful in closing the gap between Pupil Premium children and their peers. We will focus on three areas:
- Academic support
- Raising motivation and aspiration
- Overcoming barriers to learning through outstanding pastoral care
