GCSE Results Day, 20th August - Information for Students

Dear Year 11,

I hope that you and your families are all safe and well during these difficult times.
We realise that the last few months have been hard for both students and parents as you have risen to the challenge of online learning and the cancellation of your exams. I could not be prouder of the hard work and dedication year 11s have shown to their work and their resilience throughout this crisis. This tenacity that you have shown will set you all up well for Sixth Form.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you all as the Assistant Principal in charge of Sixth Form and encourage you to stay at Harris Academy Battersea for Sixth Form. Our Sixth form is consistently the best performing Sixth Form in Wandsworth and one of the top Sixth Forms in London. As you have experienced throughout year 11, we have high aspirations for our students to ensure that you achieve success in meeting your ambitions. I look forward to seeing you all at results day on the 20th August 2020. On results day you will have the opportunity to officially enrol at Sixth Form and as a continuing student you will be given priority in our over-subscribed Sixth Form.

Working alongside me will be Mr Harriott, who is the Year Lead for year 12. As a team, it is our job to ensure you are supported to achieve all that you can in your time at our sixth form. Alongside your teachers, we will work to support you to achieve all that you want to and look forward to welcoming you back in September to begin the next stage of your education. If you have any questions or concerns, or need any advice and guidance as you begin to consider your future, we will be your first port of call.
GCSE Results Day will take place at the academy on the 20th August 2020. Students are welcome to come and collect their results and sign up for Sixth Form from 9am until 12:00pm.

Throughout the results day strict social distancing measures will take place. The Academy has taken numerous measures to ensure that the risk of transmission of Covid-19 is at an absolute minimal. To view the measures that have been put in place and the steps you will need to take upon entering the school, please visit our guide to reopening for Year 10 students. We will be limiting the number of pupils inside the school and a queuing system will be in place on results day.

It is expected that all year 12 students will start on Thursday 3rd September 2020 at 08:30am. We will confirm this with you during the enrolment day. I really look forward to seeing you again in August to welcome you to what will be a very successful academic experience for you.

In the meantime, I hope you have a fantastic summer and that you and your family remain safe and well.

Yours sincerely,

Mr James Farrell, Assistant Principal – Sixth Form

Mr Matthew Harriott, Year Lead – Year 12
