Inspire Tournament Finals – A Day to Remember at Chelsea FC!
On Thursday 7th May, six of our talented Year 8 and 9 girls travelled to Chelsea FC’s world-class training ground in Cobham for the Inspire Tournament Finals — and what an unforgettable day it turned out to be!
From the moment we arrived, the excitement was clear to see. The girls were each presented with brand-new Chelsea shirts to wear throughout the day — and keep afterwards — instantly making the experience feel truly special. With top teams in attendance including Arsenal, Fulham, Tottenham and Millwall, the stage was set for a fantastic day of football.
More Than Just Football
Before the matches began, the girls took part in an engaging wellbeing workshop focused on resilience and the importance of supporting both physical and mental wellbeing — not only for themselves, but also for their teammates.
This was followed by a football workshop and skills challenge against other Premier League-linked teams, providing a brilliant opportunity to develop confidence, teamwork and technical ability in a professional environment.
Outstanding Performances on the Pitch
We kicked off the tournament against Arsenal, and the girls made an incredible statement. Playing with determination, integrity and confidence, they delivered a dominant performance to secure a fantastic 7–0 victory!
Goalscorers:
- Raudha (3)
- Mariam Ali (2)
- Chaimaa (1)
- Rahmiah (1)
The team displayed outstanding teamwork, skill and sportsmanship throughout the match — a brilliant way to start the competition.
Next, we faced a strong Millwall side in what proved to be a much tougher test. Our girls started brightly, controlling possession and limiting Millwall’s attacking opportunities. Raudha gave us the lead in the first half, and the team continued to create chances, only to be denied by some excellent goalkeeping.
Just before half-time, Millwall equalised, setting up a tense second half. Both teams battled tirelessly, but some outstanding saves from Kaydee-Anne ensured we stayed level. The match finished 1–1, with both sides giving everything until the final whistle.
Champions!
At the end of the day, anticipation was high as the final standings were announced. In an incredibly close finish, it all came down to goal difference — with just one goal separating us from Millwall.
We are incredibly proud to say… WE WON!
The girls were crowned Inspire Tournament champions, taking home medals and a trophy for the school — a fantastic achievement and a true testament to their hard work, resilience and teamwork throughout the day.
A Proud Moment for the School
This was more than just a tournament win; it was a day filled with growth, learning, teamwork and unforgettable memories. Every player represented the school with pride, demonstrating outstanding attitude, resilience and sportsmanship from start to finish.
Congratulations to all the girls involved on an incredible achievement — you have done yourselves and the school proud!
