Student Leadership
At Harris Academy Battersea, we believe that every student has a voice and the power to make a difference. Our Student Leadership Team plays a vital role in shaping school life and ensuring that our academy continues to grow and improve for everyone.
The Student Council
Each year, students across all year groups vote for their representatives who form our Student Council. These elected students work together to represent their peers and bring forward ideas to enhance life at Harris Battersea.
The council meets regularly to discuss areas of development and new initiatives. Their discussions and proposals are shared directly with the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring student perspectives are at the heart of decision-making.
Recent Projects
Our Student Council has already made a positive impact through several key projects, including:
-
Adding condiments in the canteen to improve dining experiences
-
Organising and suggesting school trips to broaden learning opportunities
-
Proposing improvements to school infrastructure and operations to make our academy even better for everyone
The Sustainability Council
Alongside the Student Council, our Sustainability Council ensures that Harris Battersea remains an environmentally responsible community.
They have successfully campaigned for recycling and compost bins throughout the academy, encouraging everyone to make greener choices.
The team is now working on developing a garden space where students can grow fruits and vegetables and create a habitat that supports insect life, helping promote sustainability and biodiversity within our school grounds.
Shaping the Future Together
Through active participation, collaboration, and creativity, our student leaders are making a lasting difference. At Harris Academy Battersea, student leadership isn’t just about having a voice—it’s about taking action to make our community thrive.
