Early Starts Pay Off for Year 7 Girls' Basketball Team
Dedication, teamwork and plenty of early mornings are paying off for our Year 7 girls' basketball team, who recently showcased the progress they have made in their fixture against St John Bosco.
Over the past few months, the girls have fully embraced the school's basketball programme and the mentoring that accompanies it. With training sessions beginning at an impressive 6:45am, their commitment has been exceptional, and it was fantastic to see their hard work on display during Monday's match.
A special congratulations goes to Sabein and Kafiso, whose outstanding attitude, determination and commitment have set a fantastic example for their teammates. Their enthusiasm has helped create a positive and supportive team culture, with more than 30 Year 7 girls now attending training regularly.
The growth of girls' basketball at HABS has been incredible, and it is wonderful to see so many students developing not only their sporting skills but also their confidence, resilience and teamwork.
Well done to every member of the squad—we are incredibly proud of your commitment and can't wait to see what you achieve next.
Good luck also to our senior girls' team, who have reached the final at Crystal Palace next Wednesday. The whole HABS community will be cheering them on!
