Outstanding Achievement: Evans Y12

We are delighted to share the incredible achievement of Evans Ssebatta in Y12 who recently took part in the Under Armour Next London programme (which all began on a Deeper Learning Day at HABS!).

UA Next London is Under Armour’s athlete development programme for talented 16–20-year-old athletes across London. The programme is highly competitive and involves a series of stages, including participation in an intensive performance camp led by elite coaches and athletes.

Over 1,000 athletes took part in the initial testing phase of the programme. Evans successfully progressed through the competition, qualifying for the final stage after finishing in the top five and entering the camp as the youngest male finalist. 

During the two-day performance camp, Evans consistently ranked 1st overall and ultimately won the 12-month Under Armour sponsorship which is an outstanding accomplishment!

As a result of this opportunity, Evans has decided to return to competitive long-distance running, supported by the coaching, mentoring and development opportunities provided through the sponsorship.

We are incredibly proud of Evans and all that he has achieved. His dedication, resilience and commitment have been recognised at the highest level, and he is a fantastic ambassador for Harris Academy Battersea.
