Dear Parents/Carers and soon-to-be Year 7 Students,
We are delighted to extend our warmest congratulations to you and your child on securing a place with us here at Harris Academy Battersea (HABS) for Year 7. It is with great pleasure that we welcome your family into our school community.
At Harris Academy Battersea, we strive to create an environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and personally. We are committed to providing an education second to none, that not only equips students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed, but also fosters their growth as individuals. The Academy has been rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted consistently since it's inception over 10 years ago, reflecting our unwavering commitment to excellence. We are part of the Harris Federation, London's biggest and most successful academy group and we are extremely proud of the fantastic education we provide to children across London. Last summer at Harris Academy Battersea, 70% of our students achieved a grade 4 or above for both English and maths GCSE, well above the national average. Our Sixth Form students also achieved excellent results, with 82% securing grades A–C at A-Level, an average grade of a B and we have the highest value added scores for any Wandsworth Sixth Form. 73% of our last year 13 cohort went on to further study at university, with 23% of these being the prestigious Russel Group universities. These achievements demonstrate our culture of high expectations and success for every child.
As your child embarks on this exciting journey with us, they will have access to a diverse range of learning opportunities, dedicated and passionate teachers, excellent wrap-around safeguarding and pastoral care, and be part of a supportive community that values excellence, integrity, and respect. We believe in nurturing the unique talents and strengths of each student, empowering them to reach their full potential and become confident, responsible citizens of the future.
Throughout the year, we will keep you informed and involved in your child's education, and we encourage open communication between home and school. We believe that a strong partnership between parents/carers, teachers and students is essential for success, and we look forward to working closely with you to support your child's growth and development.
