Today marks the last day of Anti-Bullying Week, and we’re learning how to recognise when someone might be experiencing bullying. Look out for changes in mood, behaviour, confidence, or friendships and always speak to a trusted adult if you’re worried about someone.

Harris Battersea Students Celebrate GCSE Results

HAB results 2The students at Harris Battersea are celebrating a fantastic set of GCSE results this year. Despite all the disruption to their education the students have achieved great outcomes and they will be rightly proud today.

Highlights of this year include:

  • Alison, who achieved grade 9s in all her subjects: Biology, Chemistry, English Language, English Literature, History, Mathematics, Music, Physics, Spanish, Further Maths. Alison is in the top one per cent in the country, which is spectacular.
  • Zahra, who achieved grade 9 in Further Maths, Maths, History, English Language and Biology, 8 in Chemistry, English Literature, and Spanish, and 7 in Physics and Music.
  • Kayleigh, who achieved grade 9 Art, Biology, Chemistry, French, History, Maths and Further Maths, grade 8 in Spanish and grade 7 in English Language and Literature.
  • Valentina, who took three GCSE exams in Year 10 and she has achieved 9 in French, Spanish and Italian.
  • Erik, who achieved grade 9 in Chemistry, French, Maths and Spanish, grade 8 in Biology, English Language, Further Maths, Geography, Music, and Physics, and 7 in English Literature
  • Yui (Matthew), who achieved grade 9 in Biology, Chemistry, Chinese, English, Further Maths, and Physics, 8 in Spanish and Geography, 7 in English Language

Two students who we are especially proud of, Chelsea and Tianna, have had to show incredible resilience to be able to sit their examinations. Nevertheless, both students have managed to secure strong passes and above in all of their subjects. Chelsea’s distinction star in Sport Science and Tianna picking up a grade 7 in English Literature were special highlights.

Many students will be continuing their education with HABS in our successful Sixth Form, with others going on to other great Post-16 provisions around London. We are excited to see how students embrace the opportunities these results open up for their futures.

Mr Comerford, the new Head of Academy, said: “Our Academy’s mission is to develop aspirational young people to thrive in a changing world. Everyone in our HABS community is so proud of all the students for what they have achieved this year.

"Our core value of resilience could not have been more clearly demonstrated by this cohort. Their dedication and hard work, in combination with the outstanding teaching and learning delivered by our experienced staff, has led to this success.

"Thank you to everyone involved in the Academy and in supporting our students, especially parents and staff.”
