Welcome from the Principal
A message from David Carr, Acting Principal.
As stated in Miss Leigh’s email before the half term break in October 2021, I have the privilege of leading Harris Academy Battersea and its wonderful staff and students for the next few terms, while Miss Leigh is on maternity leave.
It is very exciting to support staff and students in demonstrating our core values of knowledge, integrity and resilience, so that we are ‘developing aspirational young people who thrive in a changing world.’
I have no doubt that by doing so, our students will navigate these changing times and thrive in their learning, character development, relationships and academic outcomes. The staff at Harris Academy Battersea are some of the best and most dedicated colleagues I have worked with during my time in education and our students are brilliant young people with huge amounts of potential. I am very proud to work with these young people and cannot wait to see how they grow and develop this academic year.
I am looking forward to working with you all to ensure each child at Harris Academy Battersea ‘thrives in this changing world.’ A strong united relationship between school and home is vital for young people’s success. Please do get in touch if you would like to discuss anything. Your feedback and thoughts are vital in continuing to deliver a high-quality provision of our students. It also, gives an opportunity to model our knowledge mindset of ‘I want to learn something new every day.’
Best wishes
David Carr
Acting Principal, Harris Academy Battersea
A very warm welcome to Harris Academy Battersea.
Developing our young people both academically and personally is at the heart of everything we do at Harris Academy Battersea. They should leave us not only having fulfilled their personal best in terms of academic results, but also equipped with our core values of knowledge, integrity and resilience to thrive in all stages of their lives.
Equally, we wish for our school and young people to serve the community and be a school that the community is proud to have on its doorstep. The values embody the qualities we expect to see in our young people.
Please keep an eye on our website for all the latest school news and plans for the coming year.
Please do not hesitate in contacting the school at any time if you have anything you would like to discuss and here’s wishing you a successful year. I look forward to seeing you all throughout the year.
Miss P Leigh
Principal
