HABS Students Experience the Magic of Opera with "Carmen" Performance at Royal Opera House
Students from Years 7, 8 and 9 had the wonderful opportunity to attend a matinee performance of Georges Bizet’s Carmen at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
The trip offered students a rare chance to experience live opera in one of London’s most prestigious venues. Carmen is one of the world’s most famous operas, known for its dramatic storyline, vivid characters and unforgettable music, including the famous Habanera and Toreador Song.
For many students, it was their first visit to the Royal Opera House, and they were captivated by both the grandeur of the building and the power of the live performance. The production featured stunning staging, costumes and an outstanding cast of performers who brought the story of love, jealousy and freedom to life.
Students returned to school inspired by the experience, with many commenting on the impressive vocal performances and the dramatic orchestral music. It was a valuable cultural experience that introduced students to the world of professional opera and live theatre.
Thank you to all the staff who helped organise the visit and accompanied the students on the day.
