Today marks the last day of Anti-Bullying Week, and we’re learning how to recognise when someone might be experiencing bullying. Look out for changes in mood, behaviour, confidence, or friendships and always speak to a trusted adult if you’re worried about someone.

Our Air Our Action! Wandsworth Local Authority are working with MP Smarter Travel to inspire student to travel sustainably around Wandsworth. They presented the 'Our Air Our Action' sustainable travel assembly, holding a workshop after!

Our new members of HABS Book Club and our Student Librarians enjoyed the excitement of a book hunt to find the first book of a series to take home with them! We are very grateful to Amazon for providing us with 256 new books and their volunteers who helped.

24 Y12 Chemists ventured to Imperial College and  carried out practical techniques, calculations, identified common method mistakes and accurately observed then recorded results. The students were described "as role model students" by the university staff!

I found a king in me and now I love you I found a king in you and now I love me' On Monday some of students saw the play 'For Black Boys...' at the Garrick Theatre. The group roared with laughter, sang along and (almost) cried during the emotional performance!

Well done to all students who took part in Wandsworth Schools Athletics Champs. Congratulations to Tom Radford-Silver in the Shot Putt, Kymarley Morrison-Silver in the Triple Jump, Samuel Mireku-Kwasi-Silver in 100m Hurdles and Ajdin Sabic-Bronze in the Shot Putt.

Harris Academy Battersea Celebrates Best Ever A Level Results

Harris Academy Battersea is celebrating record-breaking A Level results this summer, marking the most successful year in the school’s history.

Students achieved an average A Level points score of 35.1 – the equivalent of a B- average grade – alongside an exceptional A Level Value Added score of 0.51, meaning students made significantly more progress than the national average.

In total, 28.5% of all grades were at A* or A, 55% were A* to B, and an impressive 82% were A* to C.IMG 1259

Subject Highlights

Several subjects achieved remarkable success, setting them apart from an already incredibly impressive overall set of results:

  • In Mathematics, 54% of students achieved an A* or A with an overall average grade of a B+.
  • In Further Mathematics, 50% of grades were A*-A and 100% were A*-B.
  • In Art and Design, 33% of grades were A*-A with an average grade of B+
  • In Politics, 80% of students achieved an A*-B grade
  • In Sociology, 70% of students achieved an A*-B grade

These subject results demonstrate that whether in STEM, the Arts or Humanities, students at HABS 6th Form are achieving extraordinary results. IMG 1268

Among many outstanding individual performances:

  • Alison Honrada achieved a stunning A*, A*, A, A in Biology, Maths, Chemistry and Physics and is going to Imperial to study Molecular Bioengineering
  • Morris Chan achieved an incredible A*, A, A, A in Maths,  Biology, Chemistry, Physics and is going to UCL to study Biochemistry
  • Bianca Irving achieved A, A, A in Maths, Biology and Chemistry and is going to UCL to study Pharmacy
  • Josheima Stewart achieved A*, A* in Photography and Art, and Distinction* in Health and Social Care
  • Rianna Jama achieved A, A in Economics and Maths
  • Shervin Shafiepour achieved Distinction*, Distinction in Double Business and a B in Maths and will go on to study Accounting and Finance

 

 

Principal Charlie Comerford praised the achievements, saying:
